Bill Black has been practicing law for over 25 years. In that time, he has earned the respect and admiration of his peers, based upon the success which he has achieved in his professional and personal life. He is a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, but has enjoyed living and working in Phoenix since 1979. He is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in three states - Arizona, Minnesota and Wisconsin. In the several years following his graduation from law school, he was first a prosecutor and then a public defender on major felony cases. From these work experiences, he gained invaluable trial experience. <p>In 1979, he started his own law firm in the Phoenix area and has worked as a civil practitioner on an interesting variety of cases since that time. Over the last several years, he has successfully resolved thousands of personal injury, medical malpractice and other substantial cases. During this time, Mr. Black has also handled a number of commercial litigation cases including real estate disputes, contract disputes, fraud cases, entertainment law disputes and tradename and trademark infringement cases. A number of these claims have involved complicated legal issues and have been cases with serious injuries, wrongful death or other significant damages. <p>In his practice, Mr. Black has also successfully represented clients in a significant number of transactional legal matters in the areas of contract, real estate law, restaurant and liquor license law, sports and entertainment law and general business law. During this time period, he has practiced in Maricopa, Mohave, Yuma, Pima, La Paz, Yavapai and Coconino Counties in the State of Arizona. He has demonstrated strong leadership in State Bar matters, serving as Chair of the Business Law Section in 2001-2002 and also been called upon regularly to serve as an arbitrator in a number of cases involving both personal injury and general civil litigation. He has also appeared as a legal expert several times on Phoenix local news telecasts. Mr. Black prides himself on working hard and smart to earn and maintain the respect of the legal community, and above all, his clients. |
